Not only a strong academic pupil, India has represented Great Britain in Elite Sport

In addition to performing well in the classroom, India Oates excels equally on the running track, having represented Great Britain in both the 100m and 200m T35 events for her age group.

Securing an A* in Physical Education and As in Religious Studies and Psychology, India will attend Loughborough University to read Sociology, while continuing her athletics as part of the Paralympic Futures Academy.

As a member of the Upper Sixth, India was named Head of Prep School, acting as a mentor to Preppies and enhancing her soft skills.

Commenting about her time at Barney, India said: “I will remember Barney as being a nurturing school, which has allowed me to grow into a confident individual.

“The last 18 months for me have been beneficial as it’s enabled me to become more of an independent learner due to the Learning@Home programme. I have learnt the importance of time management when balancing athletics and education, which has consequently caused me to be successful in both avenues.

“Overall, I will remember Barney as being a family.”
