Termly fees for the academic year 2017/18 are:
Pre-Prep Day (Reception-Year 2) – £2,080.00
Prep Day (Year 3-6) – £3,150.00
Prep Boarding (Year 3-6) – £6,100.00
Junior Boarding (Year 7-8) – £7,475
Senior Day (Year 7-13) – £4,500.00
Senior Boarding (Year 9-13) – £8,100.00
International Senior Boarding – £9,650.00 (includes EAL tuition)
Termly fees can be paid in full per term or monthly via direct debit. Lunch is included for all pupils. The school tries to keep chargeable extras to a minimum; however, entry for external examinations such as GCSEs and A Levels attract a fee from the relevant examination board, and these fees will be passed on to parents. Fees for pupils who plan to remain at the school for less than a full academic year are charged at a pro-rata rate of the annual fee.
Music lessons – £16.50 per lesson (a term’s notice is required for cancellation of lessons)
Specialist Learning Support lessons – £19.50 per one-to-one lesson
A registration fee of £50 (£100 for non-UK residents) is payable when the registration form is returned. There are a number of payment options available including debit card, credit card, bank transfer and cheque. Cheques should be made to ‘Barnard Castle School’. The registration fee is non-returnable. Registration does not necessarily guarantee that a place will be offered.
A deposit is payable upon firm acceptance of a school place and is returned without interest – and subject to our admission conditions – when the pupil leaves the school. The deposit may be offered as a donation towards our bursary fund.
Day pupil – £150
Full or Weekly Boarder – £250
Non-UK resident Full Boarder – £2,000
A reduction is made in fees for younger brothers and sisters (5% for a second child, 10% for a third child and 15% for a fourth or subsequent child) attending the school at the same time.
A 10% remission is available for children of serving, regular members of the UK Armed Forces. This remission is not available to children of reservists and cannot be combined with other remissions.
