Learning@Home Provision

The Learning@Home programme is designed to maintain the distinctive breadth of the Barney curriculum across all subject areas, the co-curriculum and the pastoral programme, while striking a healthy balance between time spent on screen (in live lessons with a class) and work undertaken outside of class time. Teachers are contactable outside of their live lesson time throughout each school day, and departments offer additional live face-to-face contact times with classes to provide help and feedback on assignment work.

Pupils are expected to be in attendance at school with their tutors from 8.30am each morning. School work (either live lessons or subject-specific assignments) runs from 9.10am to 4pm each weekday, and from 9.00am to 12.00pm on Saturdays, with breaks built in during the morning and at lunchtime. Pupils are further encouraged to take part in co-curricular activities between 4pm and 5pm each day, with scores of separate options available to all, as well as sports assignments, House activities and competitions, which are set to all pupils weekly.
