Prep School’s Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Day

17 Jun 2022

Today, Preppies have been learning about Cystic Fibrosis as they observed a CF Awareness Day, as part of CF Trust’s CF Week.

The day was spearheaded by Emily, a Year 6 pupil born with the condition, and Prep School Council.

Emily bravely shared her experiences living with CF, alongside Dr Jen Townshend, a paediatrician in the regional CF Service, who has supported Emily over many years, during a special assembly.

She discussed her diet, daily medication (a staggering 49 tablets each day!) and the importance of exercise, among many of the topics covered.

After the assembly, children took part in high energetic exercises, emphasising the importance of exercise to those living with the condition.

Our thanks to Emily for sharing her experiences and Dr Townshend for visiting.

All money raised from the day will go to the CF Trust. Thank you to everyone in the Prep School community for supporting our event.
