Holi in Barnard Castle 2022

It has been a wonderful weekend in Barnard Castle as the entire town came together to celebrate Holi.

Barney was honoured to be involved in the celebrations, as we hosted the final event of the festival yesterday, closing out a memorable weekend for the town.

We welcomed key dignitaries and guests, including the town Mayoress, Councillor Chatterjee, as well as mayors from areas within County Durham, for a colourful exhibition featuring artwork from schools and community groups in Barnard Castle, a celebratory meal and authentic Indian entertainment.

It was also lovely to see cast members from our recent Senior School Musical, Oliver!, perform as well as members of the Teesdale Operatic Society and Upper Sixth student Sian.

Many congratulations to Councillor Chatterjee for delivering such an amazing celebration, one that the entire town was able to revel in.
