Continued Barney CCF success!

15 Mar 2022

Cadets Jack and Max, both in Barney’s Upper Sixth, formally received their Master Cadet Awards from Mrs Sue Snowdon, Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham, during a ceremony held at Newton Aycliffe Armoury last week.

Additionally, Henry, one of our Year 11 pupils who was recently named a Lord-Lieutenant Cadet for 2022, met with Mrs Snowdon to formally accept the position at the awards ceremony.

There was further room for celebration as three dedicated and longstanding members of staff among Barney’s CCF were rewarded for their exemplary service, after being nominated by Contingent Commander, Major Connor.

Cadet Force Adult Volunteers Captain Monument and Lieutenant Fairwood, as well as Captain Garvey, who served as a loyal volunteer of the CCF for many years, were recognised for their outstanding commitment and invaluable contribution to the CCF, with each receiving a Lord-Lieutenant Certificate for Meritorious Service.

Many congratulations to everyone for their deserved recognition!
