World Book Day 2021

04 Mar 2021

Happy World Book Day, Barney!

We have been gearing up for today’s celebration with plenty of exciting activities across our Prep and Senior Schools!

Mrs Shovlin, Barney’s Librarian, has been sending out useful information and materials about World Book Day, while Mrs Turner, Prep School’s Headmistress, addressed Preppies during her daily briefings setting them a ‘Masked Reader’ challenge.

Preppies have been tasked with guessing which teachers were behind various masks, including a lion, a unicorn and a dragon mask, while offering clues as to which books they were describing.

Meanwhile to mark the occasion at Senior School, students have been set World Book Day-themed House Competitions for this week.

They were challenged to build the highest free-standing tower of books, photographing their efforts against a tape measure as well as being asked to perform an extract from their favourite book for a 75 second long video set in a relevant setting.

We will be sure to provide updates as and when these challenges have been completed – watch this space!

Until then, we hope everyone in the Barney Community enjoys a wonderful World Book Day 2021!
