Thank You!

15 Feb 2020

Supporting fellow charities is vitally important to everyone associated with Barney, with many of our students taking the lead and creating their own initiatives to help others and good causes.

We are incredibly proud of the efforts of everyone who has supported and contributed towards these charitable initiatives, especially our school charity committee.

After counting every single penny from donations received throughout the 2019 Michaelmas term, we are delighted to announce that we have raised in excess of £8,000!

In addition to the £ 8,095 raised, which has supported 16 different causes, we also donated shoeboxes of Christmas gifts and goods to homeless charity Centrepoint, produce during the Harvest Festival to Teesdale Day Clubs and various goodies to Safe Families for Children UK.

Last night, we continued to build on the excellent efforts from the previous term with our 12-hour Sportathlon, with around 100 pupils and staff braving the torrential weather conditions to raise vital funds for charity.

Well done to every pupil and volunteer for making the event a huge success, and to everyone who has donated to KEEP, the Sportathlon’s chosen charity.

Many thanks to Ms Masterman and Mr Forsyth for organising the Sportathlon, as well as L6 student Joe, who was equally instrumental and ‘ran the show’ over the course of the 12 hours!
