To end the first half of term on a high, our Year 12s shook things up at our annual Industry Day, where they created their very own mocktail businesses!
Working in teams, the visiting experts got the Barney community taste-testing some terrific tipples and sharing their reviews with the group. Whilst they sipped their way through the selection, complemented by a decorative fruit display and ice bowl from our brilliant Catering Team, our Year 12s got creative and curated their own social media adverts to promote their brand.
Each team courageously pitched their concepts to a panel of experts in a boardroom-style presentation. After much deliberation, the judges came to a communal decision of which team’s brand was a cut above the rest!
With a drop of creativity, a taste of entrepreneurship, and a dash of friendly competition, our guest mentors served our Sixth Formers up with a day of inspiration and confidence-building. A huge thank you to those who came to join us; the advice and encouragement you offered is sure to go a long way with our students as they begin to think about their futures after Barney.
Experiences like this are what make Barney Sixth Form such a special part of our students’ time in education. To try new things and grow in confidence while doing so is a big part of the Barney experience; cheers to Industry Day 2026!
