International students are a vibrant part of our Boarding community here at Barnard Castle School. We currently have students from 15+ countries studying at Barney, making up 25% of our full boarding population.

Students from abroad can expect a fully integrated experience with long-term international boarders rooming with British boarders to get the full British boarding experience. We want you to play a full role in all aspects of school life and contribute to our rich diversity.
Application process
Prospective international applicants are assessed either directly or via one of our agents or consultants.
- A completed Registration Form
- Payment of the Registration Fee
- A copy of the candidate’s Birth Certificate or passport
We encourage families to visit the School for an interview where possible; however, candidates may be interviewed in their own country via Microsoft Teams or by telephone.
