Year 4 pupils at Barnard Castle School kicked off the week with an exciting residential trip to Robinwood Activity Centre, embracing a packed programme of outdoor adventure and team-building challenges.
Over the course of the trip, pupils threw themselves into a wide range of activities, including canoeing, archery, trapeze, and the ever-popular giant swing. Each challenge encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones and support one another as a team.
One of the standout moments for many was tackling the famous ‘piranha pool’, a challenge that tested both determination and teamwork. Pupils approached it with enthusiasm, showing resilience and a willingness to give everything a go.
Throughout the residential, pupils demonstrated impressive independence and positivity. Whether climbing to new heights or navigating activities on the water, they embraced every opportunity with energy and a sense of adventure.
The trip also provided valuable time for pupils to strengthen friendships and create lasting memories with their classmates. Away from the classroom, they developed important life skills like communication and collaborative problem-solving.
Staff praised the group for their excellent attitude and behaviour, noting how well they represented the school throughout the visit. Their willingness to try new things and encourage one another made the experience both thoroughly enjoyable and richly rewarding.
The Robinwood residential continues to be a highlight of the Prep School calendar, offering pupils a chance to grow in confidence while enjoying unforgettable outdoor experiences. By all accounts, it was a fantastic few days, full of laughter and achievement, and one that Year 4 pupils will remember for years to come.
