Barnard Castle School pupils took to the stage at The Glasshouse International Centre for Music for the much-anticipated biannual Whole School Gala Concert, delivering an evening of music, energy, and celebration.
Following a full day of rehearsals, excitement built as pupils prepared to perform in one of the region’s leading concert venues. The evening showcased talent from across the entire school, bringing together performers of all ages in a vibrant and varied programme.
The concert opened with a charming performance from Pre-Prep pupils, who delighted the audience with When You Wish Upon a Star. From that moment on, the standard remained high. Choirs and ensembles performed with confidence and expression, while the School’s Soul Band impressed with its infectious energy.
One of the highlights of the evening came with a special preview from the cast of Chicago. The performance offered a glimpse of what promises to be an exciting production, earning an enthusiastic response from the audience.
The concert reached a fitting finale as the entire school came together for a powerful rendition of Don’t Stop Believin’. The performance captured the spirit of the evening, uniting pupils across year groups in a shared musical moment that brought the audience to its feet.
Throughout the night, pupils demonstrated not only musical talent but also commitment and confidence. Their performances reflected weeks of preparation and a shared dedication to excellence.
The event also relied on the support and expertise of staff, whose efforts ensured the concert ran smoothly. Special thanks go to George Ford, Miss Beecroft, Mr Gorman Tysoe, and Mr Edwards for their hard work in preparing and supporting pupils throughout a busy and rewarding day.
