Our Barney mathematicians have been busy this term, achieving a superb range of Gold, Silver and Bronze awards in the UKMT Junior Maths Challenge. These successes will be celebrated again in HM Assembly on Monday, recognising the hard work and ambition shown across the cohort.
We are also proud of our Year 8 pupils who gained prizes, certificates, and special awards in the Newcastle University Maths Challenge, presented at a special event at the University last week. A wonderful opportunity to showcase their talent beyond the classroom.
Further success followed in the UKMT Intermediate follow-on rounds, with awards in both the Kangaroo and Olympiad competitions, including our first Olympiad qualification in recent memory. An excellent reflection of academic ambition at Barney.
