Cdt Sjt William T. appointed Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for County Durham

The School community is beaming with pride following the announcement last month. This is one of the highest honours a cadet can achieve, serving as a testament to William’s exceptional leadership, unwavering commitment, and the Barney spirit he brings to everything he does.

Cdt Sjt William T. appointed Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for County Durham

In this highly respected role, William will act as an ambassador for the Cadet Force community. He will accompany the Lord Lieutenant of Durham – the King’s personal representative in the County – on official duties, which can include royal visits, civic ceremonies, and remembrance services.

William becomes the eighth Barney cadet to be selected for this position, continuing a proud tradition of excellence within our ranks.

This achievement highlights the incredible opportunities for personal development within our Combined Cadet Force (CCF). With roots dating back to the establishment of an Officer Training Corps in 1909, our CCF has grown into one of the largest and most successful school units in the country.

The School, the CCF, and the entire Barney community extend their warmest congratulations to William. His appointment is an exemplary reflection of the service, character, and ambition we strive to instil in all our pupils.

Well done, William!
