We were delighted to host 14 international agents and consultants last month as part of the North East Familiarisation Trip, offering guests an authentic insight into life at Barney.
The visit formed an important part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening global connections and showcasing the breadth of opportunities available to students from around the world.
Our international boarders were superb ambassadors throughout the visit, leading guided tours of the boarding houses and school grounds. Their enthusiasm and first-hand perspectives gave visitors a genuine sense of the warmth and vibrancy of our community.
Guests were formally welcomed by the Headmaster before meeting key members of the school, including Boarding Prefects, the Head Boy and Head Girl, and Housemasters and Housemistresses. Together, they shared their experiences and answered questions about what makes Barnard Castle School such a special place to live and learn. These conversations offered valuable insight into the supportive environment and rich co-curricular life that define the Barney experience.
The day concluded with a memorable burst of ‘Barney magic’ in the school chapel, where Director of Music Mr Ford led a lively Samba workshop. Students joined in to create an energetic and unforgettable finale to the visit.
We were proud to showcase our exceptional students and the strength of our community. It was a pleasure to welcome our visitors, and we look forward to seeing them again soon.
