Barnard Castle School offers students a truly all-round education with a strong academic focus, a vibrant co-curricular programme, small class sizes and first-class facilities.

Barney, as it is affectionately known, is a warm, welcoming Sixth Form where new and current students enjoy a down-to-earth, friendly environment.

Over the past six years, we have developed one of the country’s leading Character Education programmes which sets our Sixth Formers on the path to success when they leave School – be that in higher education, degree apprenticeships or directly into the world of work.
