Sport and physical development are an important part of school life and contribute significantly to our ethos that encourages collaboration, determination, resilience and supporting others as well as skills such as teamwork and good communication. We have outstanding sports facilities, including our new Prep Astroturf pitch, and Prep School children also have access to the acres of playing fields within the school estate, the swimming pool and all-weather courts.

There are a wide range of opportunities for the children to try different sports and for older pupils to take part in a flourishing programme of inter-house and inter-school competitions and fixtures. We have a proud record of sporting success producing school teams at different age groups to compete successfully against other schools in the region. All children in Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to play for school teams. All children take part in our annual Pre-Prep and Prep Sports Days in the Trinity term.

There are many other opportunities for the children to participate in a variety of sports and physical activities through the extra-curricular programme. The children are taught and coached by qualified teachers from both Prep and Senior School and we also use professional coaches where appropriate to further their development. Sporting activities include hockey, netball, football, rugby, cricket, tennis, athletics and taekwondo (subject to a small charge).

Please view our Clubs and Activities page for more information.

“Pupils are successful in a wide range of extra-curricular activities, particularly sport, where their physical development is excellent.” Independent Schools Inspectorate, 2016
