BLUE WINGS TRAINING

Seven of our newest Year 9 RAF Air Cadets spent an afternoon at RAF Leeming to complete their synthetic ground flight training as part of their Blue Wings qualification. They were very fortunate to get to experience the brand new equipment that has been installed.
Under the very experienced tutelage of Sqn Ldr Blount and Flt Lts Shearer & Johnson, they put their learning about the basic principles of flight into practice on the state-of-the-art simulators. They also had the chance to test their skills in the ‘Maverick Top Gun Challenge’ on the x-box simulators as well.
The cadets are now looking forward to taking to the air soon for their first powered flights. Many thanks to all at 642 AGS for a fantastic afternoon.
