Sixth Form Art Exhibition

20 Jun 2018

On the 18th June, the art department held this year’s Sixth Form art exhibition at the Voodoo Café in Darlington. The exhibition showcased the work of Tom Leeming and Sam Walton and the venue matched their modern, laid-back style. After a few busy hours in the afternoon, transporting, laying out and hanging work, the cafe was transformed into an exhibition space. The painting attracted a lot of interest and comment from guests and visitors alike. Sams stylistic interpretation of the work of Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele prompted many questions, and Toms portraits of David Bowie proved particularly popular.

We are most grateful that Richard Hindle, of Gallerina, Darlington, has agreed to exhibit his favourite piece in the window of the gallery for one week and have arranged for the winning artist to spend time in the gallery, talking to local dealers. The evening was most enjoyable and exciting to be able to share our pupils’ achievements with a wider audience as well as sharing the art with friends and family.
