Around the World in 80 Books

05 Mar 2018

Prep School celebrated World Book Day with the launch of a new challenge: ‘Around the World in 80 Books’. This puts a new slant on the classic novel by Jules Verne, as pupils are challenged to read around the world from London and back, with a destination marked for each book read. With a year to complete their challenge, pupils in Year 2-6 can also opt for further challenges set by their house namesakes, famous explorers Drake, Gilbert, Grenville and Raleigh. Oh, and watch out for the Phileas Fogg ‘spot challenges’ en route! As they explore the world of books, reading lists give suggestions for new authors and genres, tailored to each year group. What new treasures are waiting to be discovered? One year, 80 books: can it be done?
