Love at first sight.

02 Feb 2018

On Thursday night, members of the Sixth Form congregated in the dining hall to watch the second of this year’s Lectern Club. Each speaker invited a guest of their choice to the black-tie event. The aim is that guests become the speakers in the following term. The theme “Love at first sight” was embraced by all our speakers and we were thrilled with their varied and thoughtful approaches. Throughout the evening, accompanied by a gorgeous meal, we listened to some fantastic speeches delivered by our peers: Caitlyn won the short speech competition with her satirical take on the first book of Genesis, and Tamara won the competition for long speeches with her very impressive speech delivered blindfolded! Thanks must go to the committee for organising the event, and Mr Baker for providing us with such lovely food. – Written by Miki Liu and Nathan Barker
