Durham County Schools’ Cross Country

23 Jan 2018

The snow covered ground didn’t stop over 600 runners descending on the fields at school for the Durham County Schools’ Athletics Association County Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Runners from as far north as Tyneside braved the cold conditions to compete in what proved to be a thrilling event. All runners showed outstanding stamina and endurance in a hard fought race over the snowy fields of Barney. Congratulations must be offered to the all those who participated from school, with particular praise offered to Daniel Richardson in Year 7 who won his race, and India Pentland, who is the Inter Girls County Champion, winning with a 30 second gap between her and the next competitor. Beth Wilson and Freddie Langton have both qualified to represent County Durham while Adele Dry and Josh Duarte hold reserve places.
