This term has already seen a number of our girls achieve awards and merits in sports outside of School.

We congratulate Ellie Tweddle, who, before coming back to school became U14 County Girls Singles Tennis Champion. She has been invited to the County Awards in January to collect her award. She also secured the title of Ladies Singles Champion at the Wellfield Tennis Open recently.

Charlotte, who earlier in the year qualified for The Horse of the Year Show and completed her GCSEs was also able to compete in the Chaps UK National Championships. Charlotte, and her horse Solaris Dwenqua, picked up a number of ribbons over the 4 day event.  1st – Ridden Sports Horse/Pony of the Year, 1st – Ridden Classes, Reserve Supreme Amateur of the Year, First Reserve Supreme Sports Horse/Pony of the Year and Highest Junior in the Dressage to Music of the Year. An amazing achievement for such a young rider. Furthermore, Charlotte has proven herself as a standout trainer, having trained the horse who came second in the Ridden Classes. We wish her all the best in her future endeavours.

Rounding off the trio of sporting women, Ella Bowen, from Bowes House, a keen athlete, both on the athletics track and the netball court, has been selected for the U16/U18 England Netball Training Camp this weekend (16th – 17th September). A stepping stone into furthering her netball career and aspirations of a national team call-up.
