A-Level Results 2017

17 Aug 2017

Many congratulations to all our students receiving their A Level results today. The proportions receiving A* and A grades have increased relative to last year (20.6% up 3%) and the fraction of students achieving B grades or better – a key success indicator in securing top university places – has risen too (52.3% up 6%).

Two students are also celebrating gaining places at Cambridge. Kieran Lewis and Wilhelm Emmrich both achieved outstanding results and will read Psychological and Behavioural Sciences, and History and Politics respectively.

The Deputy Head (Academic), Dr Michael Truss, said, “We are very proud of all the hard work that our students have put in to secure these excellent results. The superb record of students at Barnard Castle School in securing places at very competitive universities continues and we know that they will go on to happy and successful careers in whatever they have chosen.”

If you are interested in the Sixth Form here at Barney we have up coming information evenings, as well as our all School Open Day on 7th October, more info here.
