NSPCC Fundraiser

17 Jun 2017

GENEROUS pupils had fun in the sun to thank a charity that works tirelessly to keep children safe from harm.

Year 6s and the school council at Barnard Castle Preparatory School helped teachers Alex White and Jennifer Strachan organise a non-uniform day of events to raise much-needed funds for the NSPCC.

Penalty shoot-outs, guess the teddy bear’s name, a colouring competition and a knock the cups down contest were among a host of activities that helped raise more than £300.
Miss White said: “The NSPCC came into school to explain its work with children who sadly have to endure physical, mental and emotional abuse.
“It was hard-hitting and harrowing in parts and certainly helped our pupils appreciate just how lucky they are.
“Our Year 6 pupils asked if they could do something to help and enlisted the support of the school council. We had a great day and were all delighted to raise so much to give something back.”
