Spring Term Music
Our daughter was moved to Barnard Castle School because she had been continually bullied at her previous school. She is so happy, settled in from day one without a backward glance, which makes us very regretful that we didn't move her at the first signs of trouble.

The Spring Term is dominated by rehearsals for the school musical. Most recently these have been We Will Rock You, Copacabana and Carousel. We are lucky to have the input of professional dance tuition for our pupils, and each year these musicals perform to packed houses.
During the term there is a good number of Chapel Choir events. We have lunchtime concerts and organ recitals in Music School.
The annual Gala Concert is held in February, and includes sets by our Jazz Ensemble, Wind Band, Senior Orchestra and Chamber Choir. Our Chapel Choir sing Evensong at Durham Cathedral in February and York Minster in April.
During the course of the term our musicians are involved in other recitals, and we recently performed at Raby Castle as part of the 150th anniversary of the Teesdale Mercury, and at the Butterwick Hospice to mark the 10th anniversary of its opening.
