RAF News

Barnard Castle School CCF RAF Section cadets have been very busy over the summer. They have taken part in a range of activities and are to be congratulated on their endeavours.
• Flight Sergeant Edward Grundy obtained his Wings after nine hours flying in the Tutor light aircraft at Tayside Aviation, Dundee. This was through the Air Cadet Pilot Scheme (Flying Scholarship). He has also been awarded a Sixth Form Scholarship by the RAF.
• Sgt Robert Hall successfully completed the Air Cadet Leadership Course at RAFC Cranwell.
• Edward Deytrikh completed a Gliding Scholarship and gained his Silver Wings. He also attended a work experience course in Air Warfare at RAF Boulmer.
• Varun Balupuri completed a Gliding Scholarship and gained his Blue Wings. He was prevented from achieving Silver Wings by poor weather at the end of the course.
• Sgt James Ingram attended a work experience course in Avionics at RAF Cosford and received a very positive report from the staff running the course.

This is without doubt the best start to their education we could have wished for.
