Pastoral

Both Senior and Prep Schools offer excellent ranges of extra-curricular activities to broaden the children's experience whilst having fun! A fantastic school, both of my girls can't wait to get to school on a morning!

Strong pastoral care in our day houses and boarding houses underpins everything we do.

We are very proud that our welfare provision was described as ‘outstanding’ in our recent Ofsted inspection, and that the care was described as 'strong' overall.

Central to all that we do is our desire for each pupil to make the most of his or her talents. As well as their subject teachers, all our pupils have a Tutor and Housemaster or Housemistress to oversee their personal welfare and academic progress.

Parents are very much part of this support network, and we have developed groundbreaking ways of keeping parents informed of their child’s performance. We know how important it is for pupils to receive regular praise for what they do well, and we will always look to recognise their achievements inside and outside the classroom.

Pupil Support Groups
We are proud of how our pupils are involved in offering care and guidance to eachother. Our Peer Support Group of senior pupils is trained by the Samaritans to offer a listening service to pupils, whilst our Student Council has reps from every year group to give a voice to pupils' ideas and opinions. Equal Opportunities, Cyber-bullying and Anti-bullying committees also meet regularly.

In short, we believe that the individual care our pupils receive is one of the main reasons why our school’s results are so strong.
