Netball
We thought very carefully about which school we should choose for our two sons and were keen to make sure that their very individual needs were met. I can with all honesty say that we were extremely happy with the all round education offered to each of our sons.

Netball is the major sport for girls during the Spring term. Players learn the main skills during games lessons and have the opportunity to attend extra training during activity time. Netball is an energetic, fun game where players can experience competitive matches against other schools.
We play on three outdoor courts and are fortunate enough to have the use of an indoor sports hall which allows us to maintain our fixtures with other schools despite poor weather and fading light.
The girls 1st team reached the regional finals recently, and we are lucky to have such a dedicated team of coaches.
Netball masterclasses take place at the school, and in recent years Vicky Phillips and Deborah Percy (both former junior internationals) have passed on their expertise, as has Emma Lower who plays for Team Northumbria in the National Superleague.
Representing the school is a huge honour and team players enjoy competing against strong opposition from our full fixture list. Talented players move through the County Academy route and are fed into local clubs to ensure they are picked up into the National Excel Pathway.
Netball at Barnard Castle provides the opportunity to develop skills, friendships, teamwork, leadership and fitness.
