Art
Pop into the Art department any time after school hours and you’ll find pupils plugged into i-pods pouring over coursework projects, admiring the latest piece of sixth form work, wondering about a location for their own material or discussing their latest creative idea with a critical but supportive member of staff. Our whole world revolves around visual display from cornflake packets to the Tate. The Art department’s airy rooms open pupils’ eyes to a different way of seeing.
Every year pupils move on from the School to study Art in tertirary education. A recent example is Ginnie Lau, who had offers of places at Central St Martins School of Art for Foundation Art & Design and Goldsmiths College (University of London) for BA (hons) Degree in Art Practice. She decided to accept the latter.
From Prep school to Sixth form every child has the opportunity to pursue a subject which combines academic rigour with imagination and flair. Look around you!
As a new entrant to the private school sector it was big step into the unknown for our family. However, from our initial visit to Barney up until today we continue to be impressed with the open and very friendly atmosphere at school from teachers and pupils alike.
