Excursions

Prep School has a wonderful family atmosphere; this provides a great environment for learning for the younger children.
Sue and Steve Bowen

"Day and residential trips enrich the curriculum extending the pupils' experience and learning."
(Independent Schools Inspectorate 2011)

We are proud of our extensive excursion programme. All children at Prep School have the opportunity to go on school trips throughout the year with each class having a trip every term. Boarders also have trips organised for them at weekends and the whole school goes to the Darlington Pantomime at the end of the Christmas term.

To support the work done in the classroom, we make the most of our fabulous location in the North East to visit places of educational interest to further learning and encourage follow up work in the classroom.

The older children also have the opportunity to enjoy residential trips, both in this country and abroad.

Destinations for each year group include:

Reception
Raby Castle, The Fire Station and visits from The Police.

Preston Hall Museum and Butterfly World, Beatrix Potter Museum and a visit from The Dogs Trust.
