Charities

Our daughter loves school and the fact that the classes are small so she can really get the attention she needs and deserves! Every child needs a school like Barnard Castle!
Jacquelyn Martin

"Pupils are good fundraisers for charities. The school is well integrated with the local community."
(Independent Schools Inspectorate 2011)

To help the children develop a sense of moral values and appreciation of those often less fortunate than ourselves, the school supports many different charities.

There are a number of events run throughout the school year. Many of these are supported and run by our parents but also many are organised by the active School Council.

Non uniform days are always popular, while the tea party for Epilepsy in Action is a highlight of the school year while Bailey from the Dogs’ Trust has been a regular visitor. The Pre-Prep cake sale in the summer term always raises a substantial amount for our chosen charity with the children (and mums!) baking most of what we consume themselves. The Barney Friends also run a successful Children in Need cake sale and as fun as these events are, the children gain more of an understanding of other people’s misfortunes.
