Boarding

Prep School has a wonderful family atmosphere; this provides a great environment for learning for the younger children.

Welcome to Old Courts, the Boarding House for Prep School

For the last three years we have been Houseparents of Old Courts. We thoroughly enjoy being a large part of the children’s lives. Our main role is to ensure that the children in our care are happy and safe and most of all that they enjoy their boarding experience.

Old Courts is for boys and girls between the ages of 7 and 11 with children sharing rooms with between 1 and 3 other children of a similar age. We try and make Old Courts feel as much like home as possible. With other Prep School staff and a resident matron assisting with the day to day care of the boarders, they are able to experience a variety of activities and trips. Local sports clubs as well as cubs, scouts, brownies and guides are all well attended.

Situated at the heart of the campus, Old Courts allows the children to have access to the many outstanding facilities the school has to offer. The children learn to live, play and work together in an informal, yet structured environment, having the opportunities to develop their individual personalities.

Parental contact is encouraged; it is vital that boarding is a joint venture between the family and the school. Many children arrange to have weekends out with family and/or friends but the boarding house remains open throughout the term.
