Our son joined Barnard Castle Prep School in September from another local prep school and we have been amazed at the higher work levels that he has progressed to'.

With a combination of traditional and modern teaching methods, each child is encouraged to develop into an independent learner and succeed to the best of their ability.

Taught by well qualified and friendly staff, with classes of less than twenty, the children are predominantly class taught. The Pre-Prep have specialist teachers for Music and PE and as the children progress into Prep School, whilst remaining very much as a class, some subjects are taught by other specialist teachers with access to a wide range of facilities including our bank of laptops to ensure cross-curricular links. Years 5 and 6 are set for both Mathematics and English.
