Military Wives Choir
As part of a fund raising initiative undertaken by four Year 11 pupils from Barnard Castle School, musicians at the School are delighted to be performing alongside A Military Wives Choir.
The event is being held in the beautiful setting of Bowes Museum on March 2nd. There is an opportunity to see the performance as a matinee or evening performance. All money raised will go towards assisting charity projects in Borneo.
Four pupils from Barney will undertake an extremely challenging and tough 4-week work based assignment this summer at a tiny island in the South China Sea, just off the West Coast of Borneo, called Mantanani.
They will assist ongoing charity projects that raise the living and educational standards of this extremely under-developed rural location. This includes building an irrigation system to provide freshwater and constructing a kindergarten to improve education, especially for women and girls, and to promote social and business opportunities in
Tickets, for what will prove to be a wonderful concert, are available from the School, 01833 690 222 at a price of £20. Bowes Museum are able to offer afternoon tea for the matinee performance or alternatively, for those wishing to attend the evening performance, there are pre-booked dinners available.
