Vato’s National Success!

Well done to Sixth Formers Vato and Matthew, who represented Barney in the December Debating Matters Online Championship Final.
The pair competed against students from Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke, debating the topic ‘Britain should pay reparations for its colonial past’ with Barney arguing ‘For’ and Queen Mary’s College ‘Against’.
After a hard fought final, Vato, who is from Georgia, and Matthew were named the winners – many congratulations, both!
Additionally, Vato, who only joined Barney in September 2020, was named the competition’s ‘Best Individual’!
We are proud of Vato and Matthew’s hard work, preparation and delivery over the course of the competition, as they put forward some excellent points and were deservedly crowned National Champions!
