Bus Routes for Day Pupils
The school operates an extensive network of school buses. Our rule of thumb is that no pupils should have to travel more than an hour on these routes, and currently over 300 pupils use this service every day from the Prep and Senior Schools.

The School operates through local travel firms, a fleet of coaches serving the following destinations:
Route 1, (Operator, Hodgson's) Harrowgate Hill, Haughton, Darlington, Merrybent, High Coniscliffe, Piecebridge, Gainford, Winston, Whorlton
Route 2, (Operator, Hodgson's) Hurworth, Blackwell, Piercebridge
Route 3, (Operator, Enterprise Travel) Nunstainton, Woodham, Newton Aycliffe, School Aycliffe, Heighington, Denton Village road end, Killerby, Ingleton, Staindrop.
Route 4, (Operator, Burrell’s Coaches) Middleton Tyas, Richmond, Gilling West
Route 5, (Operator, Hodgson's) Crook, Howden le Wear, Toronto, Bishop Auckland, Etherley
Route 6, (Operator, Weardale Coaches) Stanhope, Frosterley, Wolsingham, Fir Tree, Witton le Wear, Toft Hill, Etherley
Route 7, (Operator. Durham City Coaches) Durham, Croxdale, Tudhoe, Spennymoor, Bishop Auckland, Evenwood Gate
Route 8, (Operator, Maude’s Coaches) Kirkby Stephen, Brough, Bowes.
Our priorities with school transport are:
1) Safety
2) Time (no journey to or from school should take longer than an hour)
3) Cost effectiveness
Parents registering pupils will be provided in their joining pack with a form to complete and return, if they wish to use the School Transport. The School Transport Co-ordinator will then make the necessary arrangements, in consultation with parents where necessary. Payment is calculated on a daily basis, paid termly in advance. At the time of writing, payment varies between £1.50 and £4.50 per day, depending on destination. The school reserves the right to change these arrangements at any time.
